FISH FOR A CURE!
The Texas Gulf Coast has been waiting and is ready for a new kind of fishing tournament! Since my early years as a charter boat captain, I have been dreaming of hosting a tournament that not only was fun, but worked for a greater cause. Currently, as a tournament fisherman and private captain, I am at a place in my life that I can start making my dreams come true. I am Carl Christoph, and I am pleased to introduce the Texas Deep Sea Rodeo.
The Texas Deep Sea Rodeo (TDSR) has 16 species of fish, four divisions and over $50,000 in prizes and awards including a boat, motor and trailer package. A low $40 entry per angler will allow teams and families to fish together economically. Prizes will be awarded to the top three in each category along with several side pots. There will be a 100% pay back in all side pots at this tournament. It is my hope that this tournament reaches all types of contestants, from beginner to the most seasoned, kayakers to big cabin boats. It is time for Texas to hold a tournament that will target many species of fish in our waters and many kinds of people. Hopefully this tournament is a start in that direction, and we can give our sponsors the exposure they deserve.
Who of us has not been affected by cancer? Having lost two family members to cancer, I feel that this tournament is an opportunity to support the search for the cure. In addition, proceeds will be donated to the American Cancer Society. Not only will anglers get to compete in a fun and exciting tournament, but they will help the American Cancer Society by fishing for a cure!

Rick Rogers "Biggest Jack" Memorial Scholarship
A $250.00 scholarship will be given away by the family of Rick Rogers to the junior competitor who catches the biggest Jack Crevalle, which was Rick's favorite fish to catch.
Galveston/Texas City Pilots are donating $500 to the biggest Kinfish caught by a junior!
Kaint Git Wright Kookers Cooking Team
They will be serving brisket, chips and a drink on Friday night for about 400 people. They will also serve some food Sat. and serve for 200 people on Sunday at the award ceremonies. We will be selling food tickets for $5 and all food and labor is donated by HRE, and Kaint Git Wright Kookers. So all proceeds will go to American Cancer Society.
